Heck of a job! Obama has photo-op in FEMA fail, storm-ravaged Staten Island!/markknoller/status/269060377197826050

President Obama headed out to Staten Island today to assess the alleged progress being made in areas ravaged by Hurricane Sandy. Huh. If had only taken his laser-like focus off of himself for one moment, he would have seen what everyone else has known for weeks: Sandy-ravaged areas are suffering and FEMA is failing.

Giuliani: FEMA response to Sandy “abysmal”. FEMA was pleased, saying that’s the closest they’ve ever gotten to getting an “A”. #tcot

— sdog (@s_dog) November 14, 2012

@epagov @fema o so that’s what FEMA has been doing: worrying about environment instead of people. Time 2 abolish BOTH #sandy #statenisland

Katrina on the Hudson Late warnings, confused and inadequate responses, #FEMA foul-ups and suffering refugees.

Has Obama fixed the Sandy damage yet?Last I heard the people on Staten Island are being treated worse than those from Katrina.

‘”There’s no leadership here, nobody knows what’s going on,” said Christopher Janusis, a Staten Island resident.” Obama admin in 9 words.

#Sandy update–My parents in Staten Island STILL have no power. Same for many others. A disgrace.

— Jedediah Bila (@JedediahBila) November 14, 2012

It’s almost redundant at this point to note how badly Bush would be getting savaged if the mess of Sandy had happened on his watch.

— Dan McLaughlin (@baseballcrank) November 14, 2012

Of course, members of the media are far too busy swooning madly over President Obama to, you know, hold him accountable. In fact, they cover for him and the FEMA failures.

Pop Quiz:Everyone knew Bush’s head of FEMA following Katrina. The media made sure you knew “Brownie” fell down on the job.

— SquatchPride69 (@AceofSpadesHQ) November 14, 2012

But can you name Obama’s head of FEMA?

— SquatchPride69 (@AceofSpadesHQ) November 14, 2012

No, you probably can’t. Because the media hasn’t mentioned his name six thousand times.

— SquatchPride69 (@AceofSpadesHQ) November 14, 2012

@aceofspadeshq I googled “Current FEMA director” 2 weeks ago and the first 12 hits were stories about Brown. Some from the time of Katrina.

Great job, Obama praising FEMA. Staten Islanders feel very different. I know, I lived there for over thirty years. Residents feel betrayed.

— Matthew Modica (@friendsofabe) November 15, 2012

But, wait! He totally has a plan, guys.

Obama to make NY HUD boss “point man” liason between FEMA and POTUS. No favoritism or cronyism could possibly happen here.

— Selb (@commonc3nt) November 15, 2012

So let me get this right…Obama just tapped the head of HUD to do what FEMA is supposed to be doing in NYC? (Hell of job there guys!)

— Kevin Binversie (@kevinbinversie) November 15, 2012

“Alright guys, hang in there,” Pres Obama tells state and local officials as he ends his Staten Island visit.

— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) November 15, 2012

Hang in there, guys.

Heck of a job, Barry. As usual.
